NEED Crisis Line: NEED staffs a 24-Hour Crisis Line (386-6323) for emotional support, crisis support, mental health emergencies, and information on community resources. They also staff a Youth Line (386-TALK) 4pm - 10pm, 7 days a week. Their website has a lot of useful information on crisis, suicide, and community resources.

David Baldwin's Trauma Pages: This award-winning site contains a huge amount of information about trauma and recovery, which is both an invitation and a warning. It's probably the most comprehensive source of trauma information on the web, but it can be overwhelming, especially if you are feeling traumatized. If you are, take it just a little at a time, in pieces you can digest.
Foundation for Human Enrichment: Peter Levine's educational, research, and training organization dedicated to the healing and prevention of trauma. Levine is the originator of the Somatic Experiencing technique for trauma resolution.
The Trauma Center: Bessel van der Kolk & colleagues. Bessel van der Kolk is one of the world's outstanding experts on trauma, and this site contains a lot of information on trauma and many articles by van der Kolk and his colleagues.
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute: Pat Ogden's Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for trauma resolution is becoming widely appreciated, due in no small part to Bessel van der Kolk's support. The articles posted on this site are a little technical, but they may be useful to some people as an introduction to Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
