I work mainly with individual adults. I welcome people from all cultures, all kinds of ethnic and family backgrounds, all walks of life, and all gender identifications and sexual orientations.

Typical issues I have worked with:

  • depression or despair
  • anxiety or panic
  • grief and loss
  • family problems
  • struggles in intimate relationships
  • constant conflict or anger
  • difficulties at work
  • shock trauma and PTSD
  • major life changes—family, career, health
  • isolation
  • fearfulness about life
  • feeling unable to move past a traumatic event
  • feeling like life has no meaning

Length of session

The usual session is 60 minutes. In some cases we may agree that longer or shorter sessions are appropriate. Fees for these sessions are pro-rated from the hourly fee.

Cancellation policy

My cancellation policy is: Let me know at least 24 hours ahead of cancelling an appointment or pay the appointment fee.

Phone consultations

As my client, you are welcome to call me for a phone consultation from time to time. If I can't answer, I will be happy to call you back at a later time. Brief phone sessions are free of charge. For longer (more than 10 minutes) consultations, my usual hourly fee applies.

Fees and payments

Please call me at 389-6150 to discuss fees. Payment is made at the end of each session, unless we negotiate another arrangement. Payment may be made by cash or cheque, cheque preferred.

Insurance coverage

Basics

Some, but not all, extended health benefits plans and other insurance plans will cover counselling services from a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC, a designation I hold through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.

Some insurance plans will cover counselling only if you, as an insured person, request it. I would be glad to help you work out how to request coverage for counselling services from your benefits plan.

As a counsellor, my services are not covered by the B.C. Medical Services Plan.
